The Governor and Ms Annus hosted a welcome reception for attendees of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK and the Parliament of Western Australia Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop: The Role of Parliamentary Committees in Combatting Human Trafficking & Forced Labour.
This is the second Regional Workshop looking at the specific role of parliamentary committees across Asia-Pacific (and beyond). The first workshop on this theme for the Africa Region took place in Ghana in June 2019.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop provides an opportunity for lawmakers to exchange ideas around their role in gathering evidence and research; scrutinising anti-trafficking policy and legislation; and oversight of the implementation of anti-trafficking laws.
