Following this, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council. Following this, the Governor swore in Mr P S Glass, Magistrate of the Family Court of Western Australia. In the afternoon, the Governor received Professor P Klinken, Chief Scientist of Western Australia. Following this, the Governor received Mr D Smith, Director General, and Dr P Gorey, A/ Deputy Director General, Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.
