Seven Western Australians recognised in Australian Bravery Decorations August 19, 2019 By Adele Hollywood Congratulations to all seven Western Australians recognised in the Australian Bravery Decorations announced today. The following Western Australians were recognised: Bravery Medal: Mr Leon Brouwer: On 17 April 2017, Mr Leon Brouwer went to the rescue of his daughter after a shark attack at Kelp Beds Beach near Esperance in Western Australia. Mr Jason Shepherd: On the afternoon of 18 February 2017, Mr Jason Shepherd went to the rescue of seven people from treacherous conditions at a beach near Albany in Western Australia. Mr Andrew Strunk: On Monday 14 August 2017, Mr Andrew Strunk went to the rescue of a woman who was trapped in a vehicle in North Fremantle, Western Australia.
