The ‘Music of the Night’ concert featured new Government House Foundation Artistic Director Ms Fiona Campbell and the outgoing Government House Foundation Artistic Director Mr Mark Coughlan in a ‘changing of the guard’ show entitled “Auf Wiedersehen Baby!” – a nod to the golden era of Weimar Cabaret with help from students from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (external link) Mark was the first Artistic Director since the inception of Music on the Terrace (MOTT). Mark is a highly talented pianist who often performed, as well as directed, each program. MOTT has grown to be an integral part of Perth’s classical and semi classical music culture. Mark stepped down as Artistic Director to concentrate on his new role as CEO West Australian Symphony Orchestra this year. Locally and internationally renowned mezzo soprano Ms Fiona Campbell continues Mark’s legacy, bringing exciting opportunities from a new and different perspective.
