The Governor participates in the parade at Leeuwin Barracks 12th October 2019 October 12, 2019 By Adele Hollywood The Governor officiated at the Consecration and Presentation of new Queen’s and Regimental Colours for the Western Australian University Regiment (WAUR) (external link) The last presentation of colours for this regiment occurred 61 years ago in May, 1958 – presented by His Excellency Lieutenant General Sir Charles Gairdner, the 21st Governor of Western Australia. The WAUR is home to all initial WA recruits in both the soldier and officer training streams. The unit’s primary role is the conduct of individual training, and the management of the training force in WA.
