The Governor hosted lunch for members of the Regional Development Council.

The lunch served as a forum for discussion with the Council on developments issues and opportunities facing the regional areas of Western Australia.

It also provided an opportunity to recognise the valued contributions of the Regional Development Council and Regional Development Commissions. The Regional Development Commissions play an important role in the Governor’s Regional Visit program development and delivery.

Established under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993, the Regional Development Council is an advisory body to the Minister for Regional Development on all regional development issues.

The Council comprises the chairpersons of the nine (9) Regional Development Commissions and the Director General of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).
