19th November 2019 • Reception for Dyslexia-SPELD’s 50th Anniversary

The Governor hosted a reception to mark the 50th anniversary of the Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation of WA’s work in providing core services to meet the challenges of literacy across the State.

The Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation (external link) was officially established in February 1969 in response to community and academic concerns about children with learning difficulties – particularly reading difficulties (or Dyslexia).

The Foundation works hard to ensure that their services can be accessed by schools and families in low SES areas, providing many free and reduced-fee services.

The Governor is Patron of the Foundation.
