The Governor is proud to be Patron of West Australian Ballet and to advocate for Western Australia as a rich and vibrant arts and cultural destination. 25th November 2019 • Reception for West Australian Ballet’s first Endowment Fund November 25, 2019 By Adele Hollywood The Governor and Ms Annus hosted a reception for the West Australian Ballet to launch their first Endowment, dedicated to the long term sustainability of the company. At the event, two special announcements were made. The first was a $1.6 million commitment by the Bendat Family Foundation with the ability to create a permanent fund to support a Young Artist Scholarship for WAB in perpetuity. The second was a $500, 000 donation from the Wright-Burt Foundation and a further $2 million in matching funds until the end of the year. Ms Alexandra Burt is a patron for the Ballet. This is the largest philanthropic gift ever given to the Company.
