The Governor with Ambassador Valdespino 10th December 2019 • Meeting with Ambassador of Panama December 10, 2019 By Adele Hollywood The Governor met with His Excellency Mr Marcelino Avilés Valdespino, Ambassador of Panama on his first official visit to Western Australia. Mr Valdespino is the first Ambassador of Panama to Australia. The Panamanian Embassy was opened in November 2018. Panama background: A Latin American country, located between the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, and host to the Panama Canal linking the two. Panama shares borders with Costa Rica and Colombia. Australia and Panama established a diplomatic relationship in 1974.
