The Governor took Port School students and staff on a tour of Government House during the morning tea event. 12th December 2019 • Morning tea for Port School students December 12, 2019 By Adele Hollywood The Governor hosted a morning tea to congratulate Port School students and staff who participated in the school’s 2019 International Malaysia Excursion. Through the school’s annual International Malaysia Excursion, student and staff have raised over $20,000 and assisted the sponsorship of 18 orphan special needs students in Klang, Malaysia. In addition to this they donated toys, games, clothes, food to an Orang Asli tribal village in Slim River, Ipoh, Malaysia. Port School is an independent school that aims to engage at risk students in Years 8 – 12 who, for a variety of reasons and situational circumstances, have not been able to achieve success in mainstream school settings.
