Ambassador of Ireland on his first Official Visit to Western Australia. His Excellency was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Carmel Callan and Mr Marty Kavanagh, Honorary Consul for Ireland in WA. Ireland is ranked as Western Australia’s 69th trading partner (82nd for exports). Data from the 2016 Census indicated that in Western Australia there were: 18,034 people born in the Republic of Ireland, an increase of 26 per cent since the 2011 Census (14,293) 4156 people born in Northern Ireland, an increase of 12 per cent since 2011 (3711).
