22nd January 2020 • Site tour of new WA Museum in Perth’s Cultural Centre January 22, 2020 By Adele Hollywood The Governor and Ms Annus received a tour of the new WA Museum (external link) Opening in November 2020, the New Museum for WA will share the stories of our State’s people and places, and act as a gateway to explore all of Western Australia. It is a world class museum that will be at the heart of our State and reflect the spirit of our people. Developed with a ‘people first approach’ it will feature Western Australians sharing their stories, in their own voices. About the Building Located in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, the New Museum is a dramatic and bold landmark building for Western Australia. The building was constructed by Multiplex and designed by international design practices Hassell + OMA. The soaring spaces, stunning details and metallic finishes reflect the vast and sweeping landscapes of Western Australia and share stories about the State’s mineral heritage and the origins of the WA Museum.
