23rd February 2020 • Scouts WA Youth Awards Ceremony February 23, 2020 By Adele Hollywood The Honourable Peter Quinlan, Lieutenant Governor officiated at the Scouts WA Youth Awards Ceremony. The annual ceremony recognises the knowledge youth members have acquired, the skills they have developed and the experience they have gained through the Scout Method. From as young as six, youth members can participate in an award scheme suitable for their age group. Representing the Governor who is Chief Scout, the Lieutenant Governor presented the following awards: Queen’s Scout Award: Venturer Scouts achieve the Queen’s Scout Award through completing requirements in outdoor activities, community involvement, leadership development and personal growth. Baden-Powell Scout Award: Rover Scouts earn the Baden-Powell Scout Award through setting themselves a challenging task, taking into consideration the Aims of Scouting.
