The Governor with Lt Lisa Fieldhouse

26th February 2020 • Briefing on Future Footprints Program

The Governor received a briefing on the Association of Independent Schools Western Australia (AISWA) Future Footprints Program (external link) from Lt Lisa Fieldhouse, Pilbara Regiment 3 Squadron.

The Future Footprints program is an initiative of AISWA that began in 2004. The program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are attending 17 participating schools in Perth.

About Lt Lisa Fieldhouse

Lisa Fieldhouse is a Koori woman from New South Wales, born in 1974 and raised in Balga, Western Australia on Whadjuk Noongar land. Lisa’s father is a part of the Stolen Generation and was also in the Australian Army for 21 years.

In 2016 Lisa returned to Association of Independent Schools Western Australia (AISWA) to run the Future Footprints Program and continue to stretch the program to new and changing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

In 2019 she won the Exceptional Contribution to Indigenous Student Boarding award from Indigenous Education and Boarding Australia. In 2019 Lisa was appointed as a Lieutenant with the Pilbara Regiment as the Aboriginal Liaison Officer.
