Lunch for Perth F1 Driver Mr Daniel Ricciardo March 9, 2020 By Adele Hollywood The Governor and Government House Official Secretary Mrs Deborah Hegarty hosted lunch for Perth F1 Driver Mr Daniel Ricciardo. Mr Ricciardo was accompanied by Mr Joe Passione. Mr Ricciardo drives for the Renault F1 Team and will begin his 2020 campaign at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix on 12-15 March, which is celebrating the 25th year of F1 in Melbourne. Short biography Born in Perth in 1989, Ricciardo started karting aged just nine after finding a hero in Ayrton Senna. After working his way through the go-kart ranks, in 2005 he entered the Australian Formula Ford series and, although driving an uncompetitive car, made enough of an impression to secure a scholarship for the following season’s Formula BMW Asia championship.
