The Governor is proud to be Patron of Rowing WA. “Talked today with David Rose, President Rowing WA. Have been interested in how sporting organisations have been handling the pandemic. You would expect sports organisations to be innovative and effective and they are. Using machines, Rowing WA have done two virtual regattas. Some clubs have experienced difficulty but Rowing WA are backing them in. JobKeeper is critical to all. Some important capital works have now had focus. Some rowers are our with singles but will require further changes to be able to operate in multiples. One great initiative is a competition between rowers in Australia, NZ, Canada and the UK is ‘Rowing to the Moon’ – 384, 000 kilometres. The four countries have already engaged in competition. I never fail to be inspired by the way our various institutions are coping with this period of stand down.” Governor Post navigation Discussion with Mr Simon Taylor, CEO Netball WAMeeting with Periscope Pictures View all Articles
