Abrolhos Islands from the sky Governor’s Regional Visit Program: Geraldton, Day Two August 18, 2020 By Adele Hollywood From Monday 17th August to Wednesday 19th August, the Governor is visiting Geraldton as part of his Regional Visit Program. The Governor’s itinerary has been developed in coordination with the Mid West Development Commission. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor kept in touch regularly with all regional development commissions over Zoom and phone calls, receiving updates on each area’s activities and challenges. Itinerary – Tuesday 18th August Tour of the Abrolhos Islands with Mr Gavin Treasure, CEO Mid West Development Commission. The area consists of 122 pristine islands – an archipelago with crystal blue waters and an abundance of sea life. Visit to the Pollinators Innovation Hub, including tour of facility and briefing. The hub provides space, learning and connections to nurture innovation and new ventures to make the Mid West a better place. Batavia Coast Maritime Institute tour. The award winning TAFE campus is a training, research and development facility located on the oceanfront of the picturesque Separation Point in Geraldton. Dinner with the Mid West Development Commission Board.
