Meeting with Governor’s Wine Council Member Mr John Hanley August 10, 2020 By Adele Hollywood The Governor met with Mr John Hanley from the Govenror’s Wine Council. The Governor’s Wine Council was established close to 20 years ago at the request of Governor John Sanderson to provide expert advice and recommendations to the Office on suitable wines to purchase for use at hospitality functions at Government House. The Wine Council’s objective has been to establish and maintain a cellar representative of each of the wine growing regions in Western Australia, in order to promote the State’s wine industry when hosting functions as part of the in-house hospitality program. Each Governor has maintained contact with the Council since its inception, with day to day liaison undertaken between the Events and Engagement Team and Wine Council Chair.
