911 Memorial Service wreaths 911 Memorial Service at St. George’s Cathedral September 11, 2020 By Adele Hollywood The Governor was in attendance at the 911 Memorial Service at St. George’s Cathedral. Hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Governor was joined by U.S. Consul General – Mr David Gainer, WA Police Commissioner – Chris Dawson and many more to pay their respects to the 2,977 souls lost on that tragic day 19 years ago. The Governor with Mr Chris Dawson – WA Police Commissioner An opening prayer was read by Jim Wills, Chaplain VFW Post 12163, words of reflection by U.S. Consul General David Gainer, a message of hope read by Rev. Richard Bailey and remarks by Rev. Chris Chataway – Dean, St. George’s Cathedral. Rev. Chris Chataway – Dean, St. Georges Cathedral Quatermaster Raul Torres Jr. then asked the dignitaries in attendance to lay a wreath to remember that fateful day 11 September 2001.
