Meeting with Curtin University

The Governor met with Dr Andrew Crane, Chancellor; Professor Jeremy Kilburn, Pro Vice-Chancellor Science and Engineering; Mr Tim McInnis, Chief Advancement Officer, and Professor Chris Moran, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research from Curtin University to receive an update on how Curtin are contributing to the future prosperity, equity and security of Western Australia. Discussion centered on the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering and other areas such as the hosting of the Future Battery Industries CRC.

The WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering attracts strong industry partnerships and investment in high-tech facilities, operating from campuses in Perth and the historic mining town of Kalgoorlie located in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.

The Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre is enabling the growth of battery industries to power Australia’s future. Bringing together industry, researchers, governments and the community to ensure Australia plays a leading role in the global battery revolution.

This work is critical in making Australia’s industries more competitive by harnessing the research skills and industry expertise required to create new economic opportunities.
