Araluen rely on volunteers each year to help plant the tulips. The pandemic prevented the recruitment of volunteers this year which meant staff had to step in to make this year’s event happen. Not only were they successful in doing so, this year’s bloom is the biggest for 20 years.

Overall the Park flourishes amongst an undulating native backdrop of Australian Marri and Blackbutt Trees, Banksia and flowering natives. To the north of the park at Bennett’s Lawn, the canopy of tree ferns towers over the striking blooms of the Camellia and Magnolia collection. It’s a must visit.
