The Governor can be seen being ‘hugged’ by the ‘Scar Tree’ or Tuart. Men would carve out sections of the tree to make tools and implements such as throwing sticks or ‘coolamons’ (dishes). The tree carvings were also used by women to rest babies in when completing other duties.
