The Governor swearing in Mr Colin Pettit as Commissioner for Children and Young People Swearing in – Term extended for Commissioner for Children and Young People October 16, 2020 By Adele Hollywood The Governor welcomed Mr Colin Pettit to Government House to be officially sworn in as Commissioner for Children and Young People. Mr Pettit has been extended by an appointment as Acting Commissioner for the next 12 months. Mr Colin Pettit, Commissioner for Children and Young People Mr Pettit was originally appointed to the position on November 16, 2015 for a term of five years and has brought to the position many years of experience in teaching and education, and has led the office with distinction during this time. The Governor with Mr Colin Pettit, Commissioner for Children and Young People Part of the Governor’s role is to appoint the President of the Legislative Council and all State Government Ministers, judges, magistrates and justices of the peace.
