Government House Foundation: The Music on the Terrace 2021 program has officially launched!

The Government House Foundation will present another exciting year of concerts in 2021 through the much loved Music on the Terrace concert series.

Held in the Government House Ballroom and Grounds, concerts will also feature inside the House this year with the new and exclusive Soirée Series.

The Governor’s welcome message for Music on the Terrace 2021

I am delighted to welcome West Australians back to Government House to enjoy a new and exciting season of our beloved Music on the Terrace series.

As we reflect on the challenges of last year, we feel a renewed appreciation for our State’s arts and culture scene. It was only one of the many areas affected by the pandemic, but significant when we consider its value to our collective joy and wellbeing. Supporting our local artists has never been so important and programs like Music on the Terrace make it a pleasure to do so.

Last year’s popular Jazz on the Lawn events were a huge success. When something works it makes sense to repeat it so I am pleased to see that this unique offering will return in November, held once again in our serene gardens.

As well as events in the ballroom and gardens, Susie and I are pleased to be opening up the house for the brand new Soirée Series. The gardens will also be the backdrop for a new Baroktoberfest event, which promises to be a potential annual celebration.

I congratulate Government House Foundation Artistic Director Fiona Campbell on another outstanding program of events, and thank all supporters who have helped to make it happen. With so much variety, I am hopeful that we will attract new audiences to support our local musical talent here at Perth’s premier cultural heritage site.

Susie and I are eager to grow the Government House community and invite you to join the Government House Foundation as a member. A membership with the Foundation directly supports our mission to improve awareness and understanding of the significance of Government House and its grounds which belong to the people of Western Australia.
