A meeting with representatives from DVassist

The Governor today met with representatives from DVassist, a free helpline and counselling service for people experiencing family or domestic violence in regional, rural and remote WA.

The Governor is proud to be Patron of DVassist, formerly known as ‘Breaking the Silence’, and today received an update on the organisation’s 2021 plans from Chair, Jane Cutler and Executive Officer, Esther Schwald.

DVassist is currently piloting its support services in 16 regions across Western Australia and is hoping to be able to eventually expand to over 97 shires across the state.

It has already launched a dedicated telephone helpline and is working on a live online web chat service this year.

More information can be found via their website or calling 1800 080 083.
