An event with a difference for the Governor today, joining Channel Nine Perth’s Michael Thomson and 6PR’s Perth Live Host Oliver Peterson in recording a TV promo for a special game of cricket to be held at Government House in late March.

‘The Ultimate Backyard Cricket Match’ will be held in the grounds of Government House on Saturday, March 20 to help raise funds for childhood brain cancer, in partnership with Perth Children’s Charity The Pirate Ship Foundation.

The event will see Australian cricket greats, sports stars and local celebrities go head-to-head in the Governor’s ‘backyard’ under a fun array of ‘Governor’s Rules’.

Today, the Governor recorded a television promo for the event alongside ‘Thommo’ and Ollie Peterson that will air soon, as well as taking time out for photographs with event supporters, Pirate Ship Foundation families and brain cancer researchers.

The WACA will also be helping out on the day setting up a kids zone on site. The Governor is proud to be patron of the WACA.
