OKA ATV Managing Director Dean Robinson takes the Governor on a tour of the WA-based company. Visit to re-emerging, innovative WA business OKA All-Terrain Vehicles February 10, 2021 By Carole Kerr The Governor today visited the O’Connor HQ of specialist WA vehicle manufacturer OKA and received a tour and update on the company’s efforts to continue to strengthen its position as a leader in the production of unique All-Terrain Vehicles. The 100% Australian owned company is undergoing a revival under Managing Director Dean Robinson who bought the business around five years ago after the original OKA operations were placed into administration under different ownership years earlier. Mr Robinson has been working to get the business back on track and late last year sold his first vehicle since taking over, signalling a resurgence in production potential. His ownership marks the first time in 25 years that the business has been back in WA hands. The Governor today received a close-up look at some of the innovative approaches being developed by Mr Robinson and his team. “It was a really interesting visit because it gives you hope that this Australian-invented vehicle does have multiple possibilities in multiple industries like domestic tourism, like firefighting, like certain army functions,” said the Governor. “The question now is how to get it the level of interest it deserves. Under new management there seems to be a real go-ahead vibe. The set-up is a well thought out production system that is capable of being turned to just about any purpose really quickly.” You can learn more about the WA-owned and operated OKA here Post navigation Presided over a meeting of the Executive CouncilCheering on the teams at the Governor’s XI v The Lord’s Taverners XI annual cricket match.
