‘The Music of Disney’- a fabulous Restart the Arts afternoon.

“All the Disney favourites, enjoyed by all ages. The best afternoon’s entertainment you could ever imagine”

The Governor summing up his thoughts on the ‘The Music of Disney’ event in the Government House Ballroom on Saturday.

The Governor and Ms Annus attended the first of two performances by Adam Hall & the Velvet Playboys, who brought the songs of Disney alive through jazz.

The concerts, presented as part of the Restart the Arts with Government House initiative, captured the Disney songs we all know and love in a uniquely different way through modern and and vintage jazz versions of favourite Disney tunes including The Bare Necessities, Let It Go, Be Our Guest, Friend Like Me and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

“What a fabulous addition to the Restart the Arts with Government House initiative this concert was,” said the Governor.

Audiences were also invited to come along dressed as their favourite disney characters with a prize offered for ‘Best Costume’.

“The children were absolutely delighted, they knew every song and they loved singing along. Their parents were even more over-the-top with the gear they were wearing, in fact two parents won the best costume competition, not the kids. As Adam Hall joked, the parents put so much effort into their own they didn’t have time to do the kids!”
