The Governor and Dr Isaacs at Clontarf Aboriginal College for today’s book launch Launch of ‘Two Cultures, One Story’, the memoirs of Dr Robert Isaacs AM May 21, 2021 By Carole Kerr The Governor travelled to Clontarf Aboriginal College this afternoon to help launch the book of Noongar Elder Dr Robert Isaacs AM. Eight years in the making ‘Two Cultures, One Story’ details Dr Isaacs’s life from his removal from his mother at birth as a member of the stolen generation, his traumatic childhood, his courage and determination to rise above adversity and his life of public service and dedication to the WA community. In helping launch the book the Governor spoke of his admiration for Dr Isaacs describing him as “a man who is committed, a man who has seen his way clear through a difficult life, a man recognised and awarded.” Published by Magabala Books, the Governor described Dr Isaacs’s story as “beautifully written and one I couldn’t put down.” The launch was held at Clontarf where Robert once lived as a ward of the state but later returned to to help reshape it into the successful and empowering Aboriginal College it is today.
