Met with the British High Commissioner to Australia, Lunch for Indonesian Chamber of Commerce WA, and keynote address for the American Chamber of Commerce

The Governor welcomed the British High Commissioner to Australia, Her Excellency Ms Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, to Government House during her visit to Perth from Canberra.

She was accompanied on her visit by Ms Kirsty Packer who is the Head of Office for the British Consulate in Perth.

Ms Treadell has been the British High Commissioner to Australia since 2019, prior to that she was the British High Commissioner to Malaysia.

Lunch for the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce WA and guests

The Governor hosted a lunch today, welcoming representatives from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce WA and special guests to Government House.

Officially launched at the start of 2021, the Chamber was set up in WA by local Indonesian business owners with the aim of progressing and strengthening trade and investment between WA and Indonesia.

Joining the Chamber of Commerce guests were representatives from the Australia Indonesia Business Council including their National President Mr Phil Turtle, as well as the Acting Director General of the WA Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) Mr Richard Sellers, and JTSI’s Investment and Trade Commissioner for ASEAN region, Ms Krista Dunstan.

Keynote Address – ‘ The First 100 Days’

The Governor presented a keynote address at an American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) event reflecting on ‘The First 100 Days’ of US President Joe Biden.

The address, delivered during a breakfast event attended by a cross section of Perth business leaders, was followed by a Q&A session with the Governor that was facilitated by the CEO of the Perth USAsia Centre, Professor Gordon Flake.
