Today’s luncheon is an annual event aimed at raising money to directly support Ngala’s critical work across WA in helping parents, families and communities enhance the well-being and development of children and young people. Photo – The Governor with Ngala CEO Fiona Beermier at the Friends of Ngala luncheon At the luncheon the Governor, who is proud Patron of Ngala, also officially launched the organisation’s new book ‘Raising Ngala: A story of Strength and Courage’ which captures Ngala’s endurance and evolution over the past 130 years, from its beginning as a refuge for unmarried pregnant girls in 1890 to the premier community support service it is today.
