Supporting the ‘Friends of Ngala’ annual fundraiser, and attending the Reconciliation Week WA annual breakfast

The Governor and Ms Annus today attended the Friends of Ngala Fundraising Luncheon held at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.

Today’s luncheon is an annual event aimed at raising money to directly support Ngala’s critical work across WA in helping parents, families and communities enhance the well-being and development of children and young people.

At the luncheon the Governor, who is proud Patron of Ngala, also officially launched the organisation’s new book ‘Raising Ngala: A story of Strength and Courage’  which captures Ngala’s endurance and evolution over the past 130 years, from its beginning as a refuge for unmarried pregnant girls in 1890 to the premier community support service it is today.

National Reconciliation Week Breakfast

The Governor began his day attending the National Reconciliation Week 2021 breakfast held at Optus Stadium.

The breakfast is Reconciliation WA’s premier annual event aimed at bringing together leaders and allies across government, community and corporate to help champion change in the Reconciliation movement.
