Governor’s Lecture Series: Youth Democracy Forum with Councillor Georgie Carey, Town of Mosman Park

Councillor Georgie Carey from the Town of Mosman Park was one of our guest speakers at the Governor’s Youth Democracy Forum at Government House. Presented as part of Youth Week WA 2021, the forum invited youth representatives from WA’s five universities and key presenters, including the Hon Robert French AC, Chancellor of the University of Western Australia, to discuss the emerging challenges to democracy.

The event provided an opportunity for young people to hear about, and contribute to, discussions around a range of topics centering on the future of democracy in Australia and globally.

Cr Carey spoke from her perspective about democracy, youth engagement and how to increase participation in democracy from an earlier age.
