Hosted a roundtable with the City of Perth, and a meeting to explore future growth opportunities for WA

The Governor and Ms Annus today hosted a roundtable at Government House in partnership with the City of Perth for an update on the Lord Mayor’s vision for Perth as a city of light and music.

Arts and culture industry experts, City of Perth Councillors and local and state government representatives spent the morning receiving updates from Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas on current and future plans to enhance the cultural vibrancy of the city, as well as offer up ideas and actions to help support the industry’s continued growth and revitalisation in the months and years ahead.

This event builds on previous arts and culture roundtables held at Government House focusing on supporting the industry in WA post-covid.

“This was an excellent opportunity to not only come together to discuss the Lord Mayor’s vision for Perth as a city of light and music but to also enjoy a conversation that went further,” said the Governor.

“There was valuable interaction between the City of Perth and much of the leadership of Perth’s arts organisations and institutions that bodes well for the success of the Lord Mayor’s plans and for Perth as a vibrant centre of arts and culture.”
