The latest in the Government House Foundation’s Soiree Series was a great success

The Governor and Ms Annus enjoy the Government House Foundation concert ‘Schubert & Friends’

The Governor and Ms Annus didn’t have far to travel for the latest Government House Foundation’s Soiree Series performance ‘Schubert & Friends’, held in the Green Room at Government House.

A part of the ‘Music on the Terrace’ program, the second in the three-part series saw the audience enjoy an intimate program based around the works of Austrian composer Franz Schubert.

Australian composer Lachlan Skipworth provided some insightful commentary on Schubert’s life, with wonderful musical performances by Akiko Miyazawa, Elliot O’Brien, Paul O’Neill and Jonathan Bradley.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the Governor.

“Cheers to the Government House Foundation who honoured us with a tremendous concert,” said the Governor.

A superb homage to Schubert, wonderfully narrated with terrific musicians that wowed a packed audience. This is one of the best ways to use the Government House Green Room.”
