A stunning winter’s day for a guided tour of the Government House Gardens Showcasing our beautiful Government House Gardens June 23, 2021 By Carole Kerr Who doesn’t love a good garden stroll and today was the perfect day to do just that as we welcomed a group of Perth’s tourism front-liners to Government House. With our Gardens open to the public three times a week we wanted to make sure that our tourism and travel specialists had first-hand knowledge of what our 3.2 hectares of outdoor space has to offer. Today’s tour involved folk from the WA Visitor Centre, Tourism WA and the City of Perth’s iCity volunteers. Our gardener Claire is one of the talented crew who work hard to keep the Government House outdoors ship shape all year round and an expert on the plants and trees of our heritage-listed Gardens. The Government House Gardens are open to the public as part of our ‘Lunchtimes in the Gardens’ every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 12pm and 2pm. If you are keen to come for your own stroll we have brochures available for you at the gate during the ‘Lunchtimes in the Gardens’ opening times outlining some of the garden’s history, with suggested walk trails for you to enjoy. We look forward to sharing Government House gardens with you.
