WA Day Parade and Flag Raising Ceremony at Government House

A wonderful celebration of youth at Government House on WA Day, with the Governor taking part in the Royal Commonwealth Society of Western Australia’s (RCSWA) WA Day Parade and Flag Raising ceremony.

Organised by the RCSWA Young Fellows Committee the parade provides the opportunity for various cadet groups in WA to come together in front of the Governor and special guests. The event is often used a a way for the various groups to also train for major pubic events across the year.

The Governor as Patron and Reviewing Officer delivered the WA Day address, before reviewing the parade, meeting and chatting with some of the cadets as well as presenting Certificates of Recognition to members of the community.

The Governor presented the RCSWA Inaugural Youth Ambassador Award to Mr Jeremy Chetty, and the Certificate of Recognition to Dr Roma Winmar.

The parade and flag raising ceremony was unable to be held last year due to Covid, making this year’s event extra special.
