Remembering those who lost their lives 20 years on from the 9/11 terrorist attacks

Commemoration ceremony for the 20th anniversary of 9/11

On the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks the Governor joined veterans, guests and US Consul General Mr David Gainer in honouring those who lost their lives, and the many who have risked their safety since to protect ours.

The Governor attended a special commemoration ceremony at Fremantle War Memorial as guest of the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW group, where he gave an address and laid a wreath in remembrance on behalf of all West Australians.

In his address the Governor paid tribute to the thousands who died, the families who grieve every day, the first responders and rescuers who risked so much, and the service personnel for their past and continued protection.
