Queens Birthday 2021 Honours Day Three
A wonderful three days of Queen’s Birthday 2021 Honours investiture ceremonies at Government House

Final day of our Queen’s Birthday 2021 Honours investiture ceremonies

Day three, and the final day in a wonderful series of investitures held at Government House.

The Governor and Ms Annus today hosted two ceremonies, with the Governor presenting Medals of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division to West Australians who have dedicated so much of their time and energy supporting their communities.

The OAM’s recognised contributions across education, environment, sport, community, agriculture, LGBTQI, aboriginal health and tourism, financial and public sector work, real estate, youth, aged care, mining, women and business, and music.

“We have just had the best three days here in the House as we have been presenting, in six separate ceremonies, the various Australian Honours awards. It’s been a real celebration of the contribution made to our community by so many different people in the state from so many walks of life,” said the Governor.

“There has been a sense of humility and genuine accomplishment by all the recipients and it has been lovely to watch. The ceremonies have been a joy and many thanks to Emeritus Professor Colleen Hayward AM for her wonderful erudite Welcome to Country from which we always learn a lot, to Ashlyn Timms who has led us so beautifully through the National Anthem and Ms Fiona Cooper for being our MC.”

“I also want to acknowledge that this has also been a most wonderful experience for all of us in the Household. Everybody here pitches in, everybody gets involved, everybody loves being a part of these ceremonies and we get to really show what the House is capable off. My thanks to all the staff for three days of joyous and effective presentations to some very important people in the West Australian community, the Governor said.

The Governor is encouraging all West Australians to get behind the Australian Honours process and nominate for the next round. To learn more about the nomination process click here
