Celebrating the Pilbara Regiment and supporting our regional essential services

Continuing the Governor’s regional engagements in Karratha today with the Pilbara Regiment Open Day followed by a reception at Red Earth Arts Precinct in the evening.

At the Open Day, the Governor had the opportunity to tour the Taylor Barracks, showcasing the Unit’s impressive surveillance and reconnaissance capability.

After planting a tree to mark the occasion, the Governor had the pleasure of meeting with the dedicated service men and women and their families at a reception at the Mintu Muta mess.

Supporting our regional essential services in the Pilbara

The Governor took the opportunity today to hear about the vital work of our regional Police with a visit to the Karratha Police Station.

Next stop was a tour of the impressive new Karratha Health Campus (KCH), a complete one-stop shop for integrated health services for the Region.

The KCH replaces Nickol Bay Hospital and is the largest health infrastructure investment in regional WA’s history.

The Governor toured the emergency department, the surgical centre, delivery suites and maternity wing and heard more about the world-class Telehealth services, new and expanded outpatients and essential services such as child health and medical imaging, all under one roof.

KHC also provides valuable support to smaller regional hospitals including Roebourne, Tom Price, Paraburdoo and Onslow.
