“We are deeply saddened at the sudden passing of ABC Radio presenter Russell Woolf” – Governor Beazley (Image ABC Radio Perth) VALE Russell Woolf October 26, 2021 By Carole Kerr Today we awoke to the news that overnight we lost a local media legend with the sudden passing of ABC radio host Russell Woolf. It is news that has deeply saddened us all. I was fortunate to have spent some time with Russell on Sunday night at a private dinner and this is a time that now will be so greatly treasured by my wife Susie and I. For many West Australians and in particular ABC listeners across this state, Russell was one of the family, waking us up every morning on ABC breakfast radio, and chatting to us through our TV screens every night as a much loved weather presenter on ABC TV from 2007 until 2011. Our thoughts are very much with his immediate family at this incredibly sad time, and also with his ABC family who will also be hurting a great deal right now, as well as his extended media family right around WA. There are not many West Australians who have not met Russell, whether on-air or off, and today we are all united in shock at this unexpected and terribly sad news. We are however fortunate to have had Russell in our community and our lives and he will be greatly missed. – Governor Beazley Post navigation Garden tours and Artists at workKambarang season at Government House View all Articles
