Photo – The Governor with AIRCDRE Fiona Dowse AM CSC (centre) and some of WA’s Senior Defence representatives AIRCDRE Dowse has been Senior Defence Officer Western Australia since early 2020, with today’s farewell lunch held in recognition of her outstanding career and contribution to the state’s defence sector. Special Dinner in support of the Pirate Ship Foundation The Governor and Ms Annus hosted a special dinner at Government House for the winning bidder of the Pirate Ship Foundation’s ‘BrainChild Ball’ auction, held in September. In lieu of their attendance at the Annual Gala, the Governor and Ms Annus donated a ‘dinner at Government House’ to be auctioned off as way of raising valuable funds for the Foundation’s research into childhood brain cancer. Winning bidders Mr Steve and Mrs Diane de Mol, and invited guests joined the Governor and Ms Annus for drinks and dinner. The 2021 BrainChild Ball in September raised $590,000 with funds going to support the work of brain tumour researchers.
