The Governor expresses his thanks, and that of all West Australians, to Taskforce Rodia officers Special reception in honour of WA Police’s Taskforce Rodia November 30, 2021 By Carole Kerr A special reception at Government House to honour, acknowledge and thank all those involved in Taskforce Rodia, the WA Police operation that rescued little Cleo Smith and reunited her with her loving family. Jointly hosted by the Governor and the Premier of Western Australia, the Hon Mark McGowan MLA, the event paid tribute to the tireless efforts of the 140-strong police taskforce over a gruelling 18-day search for Cleo who disappeared from her tent during a family holiday. During the search that followed officers reviewed 2500 calls to Crimestoppers, interviewed 180 witnesses, and watched hundreds of hours of CCTV. The Government House reception was a way to say thanks to the unrelenting efforts of the taskforce, those who supported them, as well as their families who felt and experienced so much alongside them. “To the Taskforce Rodia team, thank you for everything you have done serving the Western Australian community,” said the Governor. “I know I speak for everyone in this state when I say we are so incredibly proud of the WA Police and all gathered here tonight for your dedication and your determination.” Post navigation Meeting of Executive Council, and catching up with the Regional Development CouncilHonouring fallen Diggers at Karrakatta and World AIDS Day breakfast View all Articles
