Hosting the Defence West end-of-year reception, and a new Magistrate sworn in. December 16, 2021 By Carole Kerr A key defence industry event at Government House this evening with the Governor hosting the annual Defence West end-of-year reception. A stellar collection of industry experts and defence leaders gathered to reflect on the challenges and successes of 2021, as well as celebrate the industry’s continued excellence despite a difficult twelve months. The Governor congratulated guests on their hard work in supporting and protecting WA and Australia’s national interests, as well as efforts to develop technology, boost innovation and build sovereign capability. WA’s Defence Industry; Veterans’ Affairs Minister the Hon Paul Papalia CSC MLA also addressed the gathering, acknowledging the importance of the defence sector and all those in it to WA’s economy and future. Family Court Magistrate Sworn In Congratulations to Ms Megan Wadsworth, today officially sworn in as a Magistrate by the Governor. Family and official guests gathered at Government House to watch Ms Wadsworth take the oath for her new role as Magistrate of the Family Court. Ms Wadsworth will officially take up her appointment at the start of January 2022.
