A day out at Government House for some hard working teachers, and acknowledging Partners of Veterans WA

A warm Government House welcome today to teachers from Beechboro Primary School, who joined the Governor and Ms Annus for morning tea and a history lesson on the House and Gardens.

The group spent some time hearing from the Governor about his role and his priorities, before being led on a House tour which started in the Governor’s study.

The visit ended with a wander through the beautiful heritage listed Gardens led by our gardener Claire.

The unveiling of the plaque coincided with the establishment of Partners of Veterans Association of Australia (PVA) on 17 December 2000.

In his speech, the Governor acknowledged the important work of the PVA who provide support and advocacy to current and former partners of veterans and their families.

The PVA not only supports the partners of this generation, but also considers the needs of future generations and is continuing to work hard to put in place a support network that was not available when many of our veterans returned form their war services.
