Happy New Year from the Governor, Ms Annus and everyone at Government House

A New Year greeting from the Governor

Welcome to 2022

My wife Susie and I are delighted to extend the warmest of new year greetings to one and all.

As 2021 is behind us, we can reflect on the highs and lows of the past year and look towards this new year with much hope and optimism.

One thing we can always celebrate in Western Australia is that we live in the most amazing place in the world with terrific people.

Many of us however may be feeling anxious and vulnerable due to the uncertain times we currently face. But there are things that are certain, and that is we are not alone, we are all in this together, and we need to remain connected.

More than ever, we need to extend kindness to each other and to ensure our actions and words reflect the wonderful society that we are.

We are a society that is harmonious, resilient, respectful and enduring.

It is important that we follow official guidelines and act in solidarity, to protect each other, particularly the most vulnerable members of our community.

Here in Western Australia we have an impressive calibre of emergency service and front line personnel, which will ensure we are very well prepared for the challenges which will undoubtedly come our way these next few months.

I am grateful for your service and commitment.

Once again, I wish you all a wonderful new year and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022.

– Governor Beazley
