A celebratory dinner and high-resolution satellite imagery March 15, 2022 By Ashayla Dawn The West Australian Symphony Orchestra season is well underway. Once again Asher Fisch, the wonderful conductor who has so delighted this town now for years, joined the Governor and Ms Annus, along with Director of Artistic Planning Mr Evan Kennea and Principal Flute Mr Andrew Nicholson, to celebrate his return to Perth after a brilliant concert Friday evening. Mr Fisch has previously visited to record an episode of “Conversations at Government House“. To see the full program, head to the WASO website. Visiting LatConnect60 WA based satellite and insights provider LatConnect60 invited the Governor to their office in Perth today. Specialising in high-resolution satellite imagery, data fusion and analytics services, LatConnect60 is an Earth observation data company that concurrently collects imagery multiple times a day from low Earth orbit over Australia, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. During his visit, the Governor received a brief from Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Dr Rueben Rajasingam and Chairman Mr Mick Bolto on the capabilities of the company. A brief demonstration of the satellites at work and the variety of ways in which the collected data can be used across industries to make improvements fascinated the Governor. Of most interest, however, is their current plans to increase WA and Australian sovereign capability with hyperspectral and thermal infrared imagery satellites.
