Ms Goldsworthy is the second woman to hold this position at ECU – Australia’s first and only university named after a woman.

“The position of Chancellor is one that requires leadership, resourcefulness, innovation, and imagination in meeting the increasing challenges that universities face,”

the Governor stated in his address,

“The role requires someone who can inspire excellence at all levels of a university’s operations and foster cohesiveness. With Denise’s reputation for excellence, and for bringing organisations and people together to collaborate for better outcomes, I know she will steer a steady course in this very exciting period for the university.”
