Members of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) were welcomed to Government House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the organisation.

In his speech, the Governor congratulated JDRF on their diligent work. Work that saw hundreds of millions of dollars raised and invested in research that resulted in a 20 per cent reduction in death rates, 17.6 million fewer finger pricks and fewer than 12.8 million needles through its insulin pump program. With more than $266 million invested in research, the foundation also saw numerous life-changing clinical trials undertaken in Australia and in collaboration with researchers internationally.
