A meeting of the Executive Council

The Governor began the day with a meeting of the Executive Council. In attendance were the Honourable Simone Frances McGurk MLA BA Minister for Child Protection; Women’s Interests; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence; Community Services and the Honourable David (Dave) Joseph Kelly MLA BA Minister for Water; Forestry; Youth.

Presiding over Executive Council is one of the key constitutional functions of the role of the Governor. The meeting allows him to be briefed on the latest from the Legislative Assembly and carry out administrative requirements such as signing-off on bills passed by Parliament.
