The Governor received His Excellency Mr Michel Goffin, Ambassador of Belgium, and Mr Vincent Swinnen, Trade Commissioner for Wallonia.

Discussion covered current geo-political issues, tourism, and trade opportunities between Western Australia and Belgium.

Belgium’s economic relationship with Western Australia was noted, with a number of Belgian companies having significant operations in the State.

There are opportunities arising from hydrogen’s emergence as a crucial energy source and it was noted that Western Australia is well placed to export hydrogen across the globe.  Maximising such opportunities can benefit both Western Australia and Belgium, and enhance this valued relationship.
